Research interests

Bhaskar Mitra is an interdisciplinary carbon-cycle and climate-change scientist who integrates ecosystem observations, process-based modelling, artificial intelligence and statistical inference to understand how terrestrial ecosystems respond to climate variability, environmental disturbance, land-use change and management interventions. His research spans peatlands, wetlands, forests, drylands and agricultural systems across the United Kingdom, Europe and North America, connecting site-level and flux-tower observations with regional, continental and global assessments.
