Abstract

Preliminary results from the UKRI funded JUSTLANZ (Just transformation of food-farming systems: reconciling net zero and other land-use ambitions) project.

The food-farming system is a socioeconomically embedded sector shaped by deeply held cultural, economic, and ecological values. With respect to greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction, the UK food-farming system is both a target for, and an agent of, transformative climate action to achieve Net-Zero policy goals. In this context, a key concept is represented by 3rd generation adaptive capacity and we investigate aspects of this within an assemblage-thinking perspective in four UK nations.
