Abstract
Polyclonal antisera to Longidorus elongatus were produced in rabbit and meuse. L. elongatus were sieved from soil, washed 3 times in TRIS buffer and carefully checked for contaminants. Rabbits received 8-12 mg (wet weight) of nematodes injected intramuscularly on three occasions one week apart. The sera produced following the first injection labelled the head and tail only of L- elongatus and ~. attenuatus, but did not label L. macrosoma or L. caespiticoLa. Sera removed following subsequent injections Labelled the L. elongatus over the entire body. Sera raised in mouse by intrasptenic injection required only 10-20 specimens injected 14 days apart and Labelled head and tail of L-elongatus.
