Reviewing guidance on engaging communities in decisions relating to land

Abstract

In 2018, the Scottish Government published ‘Engaging communities in decisions relating to land: guidance’ in response to requirements on the part of Scottish Ministers within Part 4 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2016. A strategic report on the effectiveness of the Guidance is due in March 2026. This research aimed to provide Scottish Government policy teams with insights relating to the review they are undertaking to inform the 2026 report.
