Abstract
This report presents the discovery-phase findings from the Scottish Land LiDAR Programme Lot 3 on Agriculture and Environment Features. It reviews scientific and technical evidence concerning the use of airborne LiDAR for mapping agricultural and environmental features, including hedgerows, biomass and carbon, runoff risk, erosion pathways and drainage features. The work develops a tiered feasibility framework and evidence matrix linking priority applications to validated methods, reported accuracy and suitability for Scottish conditions. It also outlines reproducible processing workflows, quality-assurance requirements, stakeholder engagement and training needs for a future delivery phase.
