Triple nexus results

This figure depicts the results of an interpretative phenomenological study of the lived experience of 9 scientists at Scottish Universities.  The scientists were interviewed between 2021 and 2022 and asked to discuss their experiences of the interactions between research, teaching and public engagement when teaching undergraduate cohorts.  The diagram situates the respondents within the triple nexus (Stevenson and McArthur, 2015).  This is based on word cloud analysis in NVIVO and coding of interview transcripts.  Each black figure represents a respondent and their proximity to the nexus.  The figure indicates that different respondents sit at different places on the nexus whilst two are balanced in the centre.
